He grew up near Lake Constance, Germany, and has been playing and writing music from an early age. After studying music and social sciences in Hamburg, Jonas earned a master’s degree in jazz composition from the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, followed by a postgraduate diploma in film scoring from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

His music is influenced by the sounds of electronic music, the harmonic language of jazz, as well as the dramatic arcs of orchestral music. He has a strong interest in combining uncommon, sometimes quirky or unusual sounds with the traditional textures of established ensembles like orchestras, string quartets, and jazz bands, making his scores both accessible and unique.

In recent years, Jonas Vogler has written music for numerous short films, documentaries, commercials, and games, many of which have won awards in Europe and internationally. Various films featuring his scores have been aired on national television and have been released in cinemas across Germany.

Current projects include the music for SPÄTI, a TV show for the German broadcaster ZDF, as well as the score for Babystar, a feature-length fiction film, both set to be released in 2025.

Jonas Vogler releases electronic music under his artist name Subchromatik.

He is part of the sound and music collective Resonanz Kollektiv.
